History
Following the October Revolution, Kolchak joined the Provisional Siberian Government. The regional government was quickly toppled, leading the remaining ministers to elect Kolchak to Supreme Ruler with emergency powers.
Policies
Kolchak pushed a number of traditionalist and conservative policies in the new Russian State. He assumed the debt of the former empire, restored property rights, banned unions, and banned communist and socialist political fronts. However, under pressure from the Allied Powers, he did not attempt to restore aristocracy, monarchy, or serfdom.
While traveling to Irkutsk, the city came under control of a new SR and Menshevik government called the Political Centre. He resigned his command in favor of Denikin. The Czechoslovak Legion, which formed most of Kolchak's security force, mutinied and handed him to the Bolsheviks. He was executed shortly thereafter.
