Sensitive Compartmented Information

Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) is a separate but similar concept to classification. It is used by the intelligence community and operates on a basis of 'Need To Know'.


Definition

SCI is information gathered from sensitive intelligence apparatuses.

A building that is secured to handle SCI is termed a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
