United States Department of Housing and Urban Development
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is an executive department of the federal government. It administers federal housing programs and development funds.
Composition
The department is led by a secretary and deputy secretary of DoD. Offices are administered by assistant secretaries, principal deputy secretaries, deputy assistant secretaries, and directors.

History
The department was established in 1965 by the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act. Its creation was a priority of Kennedy, which Johnson adopted and pushed through.
