History
Krasnov was an officer in the Imperial Russian Army.
Policies
Krasnov was appointed the first ataman of the Don Republic. He ordered tens of thousands of killings in the White Terror.
He feuded with Denikin for command over the White Army, leveraging the sheer size of the Don Cossack Host. International support instead rallied behind Denikin's Volunteer Army which, by 1919, did force Krasnov to concede command.
Krasnov lost re-election in 1919 and fled to Germany. From exile, Krasnov collaborated with Hitler to organize a Cossack insurgency within Russia against the USSR.
After World War 2, Krasnov was extradited to the USSR and executed.
