History
After Louis I died in 1382, the crown was intended for his eldest surviving daughter, Mary. The Polish nobility demanded that their monarch live within Poland, effectively demanding that Jadwiga inherit instead and be removed from Elizabeth's influence.
During this interregnum, Władysław II consilidated power as an alternative candidate for the monarchy.
