History
The Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts, and Telecommunications was created from a 2001 merger of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (郵政省), and the Management and Coordination Agency (総務庁).
In 2004, after the Postal Services Agency had been privatized into Japan Post, the ministry was renamed to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
