History
The Quinnipiac settled around the harbor of the Quinnipiac River.
Amid the Pequot War, the Quinnipiac effectively were vassalized to the English colony of Connecticut.
Their primary settlement, also referred to as Quinnipiac, was purchased by English immigrants in 1638 and re-established in 1640 as New Haven.
