Office of Intelligence and Analysis

The Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA) is a Treasury intelligence agency.


Composition

The agency is overseen by the TFI.

The agency is led by an assistant secretary for Intelligence and Analysis.


History

In 1961, the Office of National Security (ONS) was established under the Treasury. Dillon was a conservative and monetarist influence in the Kennedy administration, reflecting contemporary belief that the primary threat to the U.S. economy was international financial flows.

The ONS was reformed into the Office of Intelligence Support (OIS) in 1977.

The Office of Intelligence and Analysis (OIA) was established by the Intelligence Authorization Act in 2004. In the following year's appropriations bill, the office was rolled under the TFI
