The United States divides intelligence responsibilities across several agencies.
Composition
These agencies are organized under the DOD and report directly to the undersecretary for Intelligence and Security (USD(I&S)):
The DIA reports to both the DNI and the USD(I&S).
Coordination across these agencies comes from the NSC and the national security advisor.
