The United States Department of the Treasury, often referred to as simple the Treasury, is an executive department of the federal government.
Composition
The department is led by the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. Several agency-specific leaderships follow.
The Treasurer is the custodian of collateral assets, such as the gold supply, and oversees the U.S. Mint.
Several undersecretaries and assistant secretaries of the Treasury oversee offices.
The IRS is overseen by a commissioner.
