History
The first codification of congressional law was published in 1874, as the first edition of the Revised Statutes of the United States. A second edition was published in 1878.
In the 1920s, a committee revived these efforts and produced the first United States Code in 1926.
The code is republished every 6 years with cumulative supplements published annually.
Privately annotated editions of the code are also available at significant cost.
