History

The Palang Pracharath Party was founded in March 2018. It was the primary political vehicle for electing Prayut Chan-o-cha in the 2019 general election. A coalition government was formed including the Palang Pracharath Party, the Democrat Party, and the Bhumjaithai Party.

Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Palang Pracharath Party began to fragment. In late 2022, Prayut announced his intention to join the United Thai Nation Party instead. The Palang Pracharath Party won just 1% of the vote.
