Palang Pracharath Party

The Palang Pracharath Party is a political party affiliated with Prayut Chan-o-cha and the National Council for Peace and Order.

History

The Palang Pracharath Party was founded in March 2018. It was the primary vehicle for electing Prayut Chan-o-cha in the 2019 general election. The National Council for Peace and Order decreed that the party won 23% of the vote, placing it as the largest party in parliament.

The Palang Pracharath Party then entered into the governing coalition with the Democratic and Bhumjaithai parties.

Ahead of the 2023 general election, the Palang Pracharath Party began to fragment. In late 2022, Prayut announced his intention to join the United Thai Nation Party instead. The Palang Pracharath Party won just 1% of the vote.
