History

Aside from public demonstrations calling for her resignation, this created a rift between her and the military junta that enabled her civilian government. The Constitutional Court suspended her term as PM in June, pending a ruling on an alleged ethics violation.

In June 2024, before the government of Thavisin was deposed, a bill for marriage equality passed. It was signed by Rama X in September, early in Shinawatra's term.
