Move Forward Party

The Move Forward Party is the leading opposition party of Thailand.

History

The Ruam Pattana Chart Thai Party was founded in 2014.

When the Future Forward Party was outlawed in 2020, the vast majority (55) of their MPs joined the Ruam Pattana Chart Thai Party. The party quickly reformed into the Move Forward Party. One of those refugee MPs, Pita Limjaroenrat, was elected leader of the reformed party.

In the 2023 general election, the Move Forward Party won 38% of the vote and became the largest party in parliament.
