So named because King Rama I moved the capital to Rattanakosin, but it was also known as the Kingdom of Siam.


Kingdom of Thailand

The Siamese Revolution of 1932 led into decades of coups and rebellions. Siam was officially renamed Thailand, and the Chakri dynasty lost then reclaimed absolute power.
