The Japan Innovation Party was a political party in Japan that operated between 2014 and 2016.

History

The Japan Innovation Party was founded by the merger of the Japan Restoration Party and the Unity Party. the leader of the latter, Kenji Eda (江田 憲司) became the leader of the new party. In 2015 the latter of the former, Touru Hashimoto (橋下 徹) led a breakaway group to found the Initiatives from Osaka.

Ahead of the 2016 elections, the Japan Innovation Party and the DPJ merged to found the Democratic Party.
