Hirohito was emperor of Japan. His reign is the Showa era (昭和時代, Showa jidai).
History
Due to Yoshihito's failing health, Hirohito began serving as regent in 1921. Yoshihito died on December 25th, 1926 and Hirohito began ruling in his own name.
Policies
While Japan already used the notation of 'empire', Hirohito oversaw the creation of the Empire of Japan. He authorized the invasion of China and signing of the Anti-Comintern Pact.
