Fumio Kishida (岸田 文雄) is the current prime minister of Japan.

History
Kishida was elected to the diet in 1993 for the LDP.
With a party leadership contest scheduled for September 29th, 2021, Yoshihide Suga announced his resignation on September 3rd. Kishida won the contest and became prime minister on October 4th.
