Croat Presidents

A history of Croat presidents.

The president (predsjednik) has significant powers, but the prime minister is the de facto head of state. Furthermore, the president is required to resign all other political roles, including membership in or leadership of a party.

A president is elected by popular vote, with a runoff election if necessary, to a 5 year term. The office has a 2 term limit.
