Walt W. Rostow delivered Countering Guerilla Attack to the 1961 graduating class of the US Army Special Warfare School at Ft. Bragg. Robert W. Komer contributed to this draft as well. It was later republished (https://doi.org/10.1515/9781400885909-008) in The Vietnam War and International Law, vol. 1 (1968).
It is largely an interpretation of his earlier stages of growth theory with application to military and geopolitical strategy: predict which stage of growth was most succeptible to Communist infiltration, what strategies Communists could employ to prevent growth, etc. The focus was on countering guerilla warfare.
