History
The earliest national legislature in Albania was the Assembly of Vlorë (Kuvendi i Vlorës), which established a National Council and authorized a Provisional Government.
After Hoxha died in 1985, Ramiz Alia led Albania into a reform era. He legalized opposition parties and organized elections for March 1991. Since then, a two-party system has emerged between the PS and the PD.
